A Cut is Mathematics

Why is a haircut about so much more than scissors?

For a skilled stylist, a haircut is not merely a matter of reducing length; it is a discipline of geometric design that accounts for the golden ratio of the face, the definition of the jawline, the breadth of the forehead and the alignment of the eyes. At TEO Beauty Centre, every cut begins with a 10–15 minute facial analysis. During this analysis we identify whether your face shape is oval, square, long, heart or round, and we assess your hair's density, texture and growth direction. We then present two or three tailored recommendations.

A great haircut retains its shape even as the hair grows. A poor one falls apart within three weeks — the roots begin to puff out and a return visit to the salon becomes unavoidable. For this reason, our stylists use the "cutting for growth" technique. The cut is planned with consideration for how your hair will grow over eight to ten weeks, so the time between appointments is extended and your hair always looks intentional.

Curly hair cutting is an art form in its own right. When curly hair is cut wet, it appears three to five centimetres shorter once dry; if the balance of layers is misjudged, a pyramid effect can result. That is why the DevaCut- and RezoCut-certified stylists in our salon work on curly hair when it is dry, cutting curl by curl. Each curl is held individually and shaped according to its natural fall direction.

"A great cut knows exactly what it will do as it grows; a poor one falls apart at the very first wash."

Guide by Face Shape

Which cut suits which face shape?

Oval Face

Almost any cut works. Layered styles and the bob are ideal.

Round Face

Long layers and a side-parted cut elongate the face.

Square Face

Soft layers and a wavy bob soften strong angles.

Heart Face

A jaw-length bob and curtain bangs create balance.

Long Face

A fringe and a blunt cut shorten and widen the face.

Diamond Face

Soft side layers and a deep parting bring definition.

Frequently Asked

Haircut FAQ

How often should I get a trim?

Every 8–12 weeks for shorter styles; every 12–16 weeks for long hair.

Do you offer dry cuts?

Yes — dry cutting is our preferred method for curly hair and precision detailing.

Can I bring a reference photo?

Absolutely — please do. Reference photos give us the fastest, most accurate starting point.

Do you cut curly hair?

Yes. Our certified curly-hair stylists specialise in Deva Cut and Rezo Cut techniques.

Will my hair grow back the same length after a cut?

Hair grows roughly 1–1.5 cm per month. A well-planned cut usually needs less length removal at the next visit.

Can I book just a blow-dry?

Yes — we offer blow-dry only appointments.
