Laser Hair Removal
at TEO
Laser hair removal targets the hair follicle with a wavelength of light that halts regrowth. At TEO Beauty Centre we combine Alexandrite and Diode devices so we can safely and effectively treat every skin tone and hair type — with dynamic cooling for maximum comfort.
Why Laser Hair Removal?
Permanent Reduction
80–95% hair reduction after a complete series.
All Skin Tones
Alexandrite for light tones, Diode for medium-dark — no compromise.
Fast Sessions
Full legs in under 30 minutes with the latest handpieces.
Ingrown-Hair Solution
Ends the ingrown cycle caused by shaving and waxing.
Why is platform choice so critical in laser hair removal?
The majority of treatments marketed as "laser hair removal" in Turkey are performed not with genuine medical lasers but with broad-band light devices known as IPL (Intense Pulsed Light). IPL is not a laser — it is a diffuse-spectrum light source whose ability to focus on the hair follicle falls far short of a true laser. TEO Beauty Centre has worked exclusively with FDA- and CE-approved genuine medical laser platforms from its very first day: 755 nm Alexandrite (for light-to-medium skin tones and fine-to-medium hair) and 810/1064 nm Diode (for medium-to-dark skin tones and coarse hair). Our ability to combine both wavelengths within a single session according to your skin type is the fundamental reason why results are achieved so quickly and permanently.
How long laser hair removal will take to clear your hair depends less on the device and more on the hair growth cycle. Each follicle passes through anagen (active growth), catagen (transition) and telogen (resting) phases, and laser energy can only affect hair that is in the anagen phase. On average, 20–25% of follicles on the body are in the anagen phase at any one time — which is why sessions are spaced 4–6 weeks apart and why 8–10 sessions achieve a permanent reduction of 85–95%. For guests whose hair may be reactivated by hormonal causes (PCOS, thyroid conditions, post-pregnancy), we recommend one maintenance session per year. Our salon accompanies you throughout this entire journey with digital session tracking and photo-comparison reports.
Pain is the most frequently cited concern among guests hesitant about laser hair removal. With older-generation devices, this was a perfectly justified worry; however, today's Diode Titanium and GentleMax Pro platforms feature integrated cryogenic or contact cooling heads that lower the skin surface to as low as -5°C, almost completely blocking nerve endings at the moment of each pulse. The vast majority of our guests describe the sensation as a rubber band snapping against a finger. The first session is generally the most intense; as hair diminishes over subsequent sessions, discomfort naturally decreases as well.
"IPL is not a laser. Do not hesitate to ask your salon about the exact wavelength of its medical laser platform."
What do we measure per session?
Every area is different; there is no standard protocol
Face
Lower energy, shorter intervals. 12+ sessions recommended due to hormonal influence.
Underarms
Coarse hair and sensitive skin. Permanent results in 6–8 sessions with Diode.
Bikini / Brazilian
Private cabin, hygiene as the priority. Often the area where results are achieved most rapidly.
Full Legs
Large surface area, 90 minutes per session. Fast coverage with Alexandrite.
Back / Chest (Male)
High-energy Diode for coarse male hair; 10–12 sessions.
Critical rules before and after laser hair removal
Do This
- Shave the area with a razor 24 hours before your session (do not wax or epilate).
- Apply a generous moisturiser and SPF 50 for 48 hours after your session.
- Maintain a 4–6 week gap between appointments; tracking the cycle is critical.
- If you notice any change in the skin, photograph it and let us know.
- Always inform us in advance if you are taking any medication (including isotretinoin).
Avoid This
- Do not sunbathe, use a sunbed or apply self-tanner for 2 weeks before your session.
- Avoid hot showers, saunas, Turkish baths and steam rooms for the first 24 hours.
- Do not remove hair between sessions by waxing or tweezing — the follicle target is lost.
- Do not attend your session if you have an active herpes lesion, open wound or sunburn.
- Discontinue retinol and acid-based products 3 days before and after each session.

Laser Hair Removal FAQ
Is laser hair removal permanent?
After a full series 80–95% of the hair is permanently reduced. Yearly maintenance handles the remaining follicles activated by hormones.
Does it hurt?
Modern devices with cryo-cooling feel like a warm rubber band snap. Most guests describe it as very tolerable.
Is it safe for dark skin?
Yes — Diode is the gold standard for darker Fitzpatrick types. Our technicians select the wavelength and settings to your skin tone.
How should I prepare?
Shave the area 24 hours before your session. Avoid waxing, plucking or sun exposure for at least 2 weeks prior.
Can I have laser during pregnancy?
No. We resume sessions after breastfeeding ends.
How many sessions will I need?
8 to 12 sessions on average. Coarser areas like underarms and bikini respond fastest; face and lower back may need more.
