Aromatherapy Massage
at TEO
Aromatherapy uses concentrated plant essences delivered through the skin and olfactory system to restore physical and emotional balance. At TEO Beauty Centre every session is planned by our certified therapists as part of a personalised wellness journey — not a one-off treatment.
Why Aromatherapy Massage?
Less Stress & Anxiety
Lavender and bergamot are clinically shown to calm the nervous system.
Better Sleep
Melissa, ylang ylang and chamomile support the deep-sleep phase.
Muscle Relief
Eucalyptus and peppermint deliver anti-inflammatory circulation work.
Mental Clarity
Rosemary and lemon are scientifically linked to focus and alertness.
Why does aromatherapy actually work?
Although aromatherapy has a history spanning more than three thousand years, it is today a scientifically validated practice confirmed by research in neurology and endocrinology. The olfactory receptor cells inside the nose transmit the chemical signals they receive directly to the brain's limbic system — the region that governs emotions, memory, sleep rhythms, and stress hormones. This is why even a single drop of lavender can slow the heart rate within seconds: the message reaches the brain via the "emotional pathway" rather than the "cognitive pathway". At TEO Beauty Centre, every aromatherapy session is built upon this scientific reality — we do not simply give you a pleasantly scented massage; we initiate a chemical conversation with your nervous system.
The second channel through which aromatherapy works is absorption through the skin. When essential oils are blended with a carrier oil (such as jojoba, sweet almond, or grapeseed) in the correct proportion, they pass through the skin into the capillary circulation and reach every part of the body, including the brain, within approximately 20 minutes. For this reason, the oil blend used in an aromatherapy session is prepared individually according to the guest's needs on that particular day: the oil profile applied to someone under intense stress cannot be the same as that applied to someone suffering from insomnia. Our therapist listens to you for 10–15 minutes before the session, conducts a brief health assessment, and then prepares your prescription in our blending studio. This personalised approach is the most important distinction that sets aromatherapy apart from a standard massage.
When practised regularly, aromatherapy is a wellness investment whose effects multiply over time. The great majority of our guests who come for two sessions a month report a marked improvement in sleep rhythm, digestive regularity, and daily energy levels by the third month. For this reason, our salon offers aromatherapy programme options; we plan each session in continuity with the previous one. With every session you will feel not only a physical but also an emotional rebalancing.
"Aromatherapy is not a massage with a pleasant scent; it is a chemical conversation with your nervous system."
A 6-step wellness flow from consultation to awakening
Every session begins with three questions designed to understand how you feel today, and continues with an oil prescription prepared especially for you.
Breath & Pulse Reading
A brief vital-signs check before the session helps us understand how your body is doing that day.
Scent Test (Olfactory Test)
We present 3–4 different essential oils for you to inhale and add whichever is most soothing to your prescription.
Oil Prescription
The therapist blends 3–4 essential oils with a carrier oil in the correct ratio in our studio, preparing your session-specific prescription.
Long Strokes (Effleurage)
Your prescription is distributed across the skin with soft, long, rhythmic strokes; circulation opens and relaxation begins.
Deep Pressure & Reflexology
Medium-intensity pressure is applied to reflex points on the back, neck, and feet to release tension.
Closing & Thermal Wrap
A warm towel wrap and a cup of herbal tea allow your body time to absorb the oils.
Six tangible differences that set us apart from an ordinary massage
Aromatherapy is not a matter of scented oils — it is a matter of chemistry, dosage, and technique. We apply all three in combination.
100% Pure Oils
We work exclusively with therapeutic-grade essential oils whose purity is documented by GC-MS testing. Synthetic fragrance is never used.
Personalised Prescription
An individual prescription prepared for each guest from a blend of 3–4 oils selected according to their needs on that day.
Certified Therapists
A team trained to the IFA (International Federation of Aromatherapists) curriculum.
Circadian Alignment
Different oil profiles for morning and evening sessions — the time of day you arrive is factored into your session.
Allergy Testing
We carry out a micro-dose patch test before your first session, reducing the risk of a reaction to near zero.
Wellness Consultancy
We extend the benefits across 7 days with essential oil recommendations for home use, diffuser recipes, and sleep rituals.
The five therapeutic oil families we work with most frequently
Every essential oil has its own unique spectrum of effects. Our prescriptions are generally a combination of 3–4 oils drawn from these five families.
Calming — Lavender, Chamomile, Melissa
The primary choice for guests presenting with stress, anxiety, and insomnia. The cornerstone of evening sessions.
Energising — Orange, Lemon, Bergamot
The stimulating effect of the citrus family for emotional low moods, seasonal fatigue, and morning sluggishness.
Clarifying — Rosemary, Peppermint, Eucalyptus
A concentration- and clarity-focused blend for guests working under heavy cognitive load.
Emotional Balance — Rose, Ylang Ylang, Sandalwood
Heavy aromatic oils that soothe the heart centre, for emotional volatility, anger, and inner tension.
Circulation & Muscle — Ginger, St John's Wort
A warming and anti-inflammatory choice for muscle pain, back tension, and poor circulation.
Before and after aromatherapy: what to do and what to avoid
Do This
- Have a light snack 30 minutes before your session — do not arrive on an empty or a full stomach.
- Drink plenty of water for 24 hours after your appointment to support oil metabolism.
- If possible, plan a calm activity for 2 hours after your session; the effects multiply.
- Always inform the therapist of any medications you are taking, as well as any pregnancy or allergy conditions.
- Allow a minimum of 5 days between sessions, ideally 7–10 days.
Avoid This
- Do not arrive wearing perfume; the scents will interfere with one another.
- Do not exercise, use a sauna, or take a steam bath on the same day.
- Avoid direct sun exposure for 12 hours after your session if your prescription contains citrus oils.
- Keep alcohol consumption to a minimum on the day of your session; together they can cause headaches.
- If you suffer from asthma, do not select an eucalyptus-based prescription without your therapist's approval.
A safety note: the limitations of aromatherapy
Although aromatherapy is an extremely safe wellness method for the vast majority of people, certain conditions require special care. During the first trimester of pregnancy, the use of many essential oils is not recommended; oils such as sage, rosemary, and coriander are avoided entirely as they can stimulate uterine muscles. At TEO Beauty Centre, we apply specially developed gentle prescriptions to our pregnant guests that include only safe aromatics. In cases of medical conditions such as breastfeeding, epilepsy, high blood pressure, or active cancer treatment, we shape our treatment plan with your doctor's knowledge. For this reason, we always invite you to complete a detailed health form before your first aromatherapy appointment.
Aromatherapy is not a medical treatment; however, when used as a complementary balancing element alongside modern medicine, its effectiveness has been demonstrated repeatedly by research. It is applied in clinical settings as a complement to post-surgical anxiety, chemotherapy-induced nausea, and chronic pain management. Our goal is never to replace medical treatment — it is to offer a layer that enhances the treatment's efficacy and improves the patient's quality of life. Because we operate with this philosophy, many of our guests are referred to our salon by their doctors.

Aromatherapy Massage FAQ
How is aromatherapy different from a regular massage?
Classic massage focuses on muscle release. Aromatherapy layers in scent, skin absorption and nervous-system response. Oil blends are personalised and the strokes are gentler and more rhythmic.
Can I have aromatherapy during pregnancy?
From the second trimester and with your doctor's approval we offer specially formulated pregnancy blends. Contraindicated oils such as sage, rosemary and clove are never used.
How long is a session?
The ideal session is 60 to 90 minutes: 10 minutes consultation, 45–70 minutes hands-on work, and closing rest.
How often should I book?
First benefits appear after 1–2 sessions. For lasting balance we recommend weekly for two months, then twice-monthly maintenance.
Does aromatherapy help insomnia?
Lavender, melissa and chamomile blends have helped most of our guests with sleep-cycle issues fall into deep sleep faster from the third session onward.
What should I wear?
We provide single-use underwear, a robe and slippers. Come in something comfortable so you can go home relaxed.
