Why Manicure?

A Balanced Nail Shape

Nails are shaped to suit your hands, how you use them and the length you want.

Controlled Cuticle Care

The nail surround is tidied with gentle techniques that avoid unnecessary irritation.

Hand and Nail Moisture

Hands and the nail surround are supported with products that help ease dryness.

Hygienic Practice

The work area is prepared, tools are disinfected and single-use consumables are preferred.

The Basis of Well-Kept Hands

The difference in a professional manicure shows in the small details

Length alone does not determine how nails look. The nail bed, the shape of your fingers, the pace of your working day and how you prefer to use your hands all need to be considered together. A shape that is too short, with corners filed down too far, or that simply does not suit your nails can be uncomfortable day to day. That is why every treatment at TEO begins by examining the current condition of the nail and choosing between square, oval, almond or a natural short shape.

Cuticle care is not one-size-fits-all either. On some nails softening and pushing back is enough; others need a controlled tidy-up of the surround. The aim is never to thin the area more than necessary, but to create a clean, balanced and natural look. Throughout the treatment we take sensitivity, dryness and any tendency to split into account, and adjust how much we do accordingly.

In the final stage the nail surface is smoothed and moisture is applied to the hands and nail surround. If colour is wanted, the nail is prepared accordingly; where no colour is used, we aim for a simple finish that keeps the natural shine. We then explain the home-care steps that suit your nails — the right file, hand cream and cuticle oil.

"A good manicure makes nails look tidier, cleaner and better cared for without changing their natural structure."
The TEO Manicure Protocol

A manicure runs through five controlled steps

01

Nail Assessment

Nail length, surface condition, sensitivity around the nail and the look you want are assessed together.

02

Hygiene and Preparation

The work area is prepared and the tools and single-use items are set out before we begin.

03

Shaping

Nails are shortened to a length that suits your hands and filed evenly to the shape you chose.

04

Cuticle and Hand Care

The nail surround is gently tidied and a suitable moisturising treatment is applied.

05

Finish and Advice

We complete a natural or coloured finish and share a home routine to make it last.

Care Guide

What to consider before and after a manicure

What Helps

  • Tell your technician which nail products you use and about any sensitivities before the appointment.
  • Bring a reference image if you have one for the length and shape you want.
  • Moisturise your hands regularly afterwards and use a suitable oil around the nails.
  • Wear protective gloves if you will be in contact with cleaning products for long periods.
  • If there is a marked change in your nails, pain or sensitivity, postpone the treatment and seek professional advice.

What to Avoid

  • Don't cut your cuticles or push at the nail surround right before your appointment.
  • Avoid using your nails as tools to open packaging or scrape hard surfaces.
  • Don't peel chipped polish off the nail surface.
  • Don't file aggressively on wet hands; nails are more fragile then.
  • Don't have a cosmetic treatment if you suspect an infection, an open wound or severe sensitivity.
