Lashes as an Art Form

Why are silk lash extensions not "stick-on lashes"?

The difference between silk lash extensions and strip false lashes is the same as the difference between a painter's brushstroke and a box of paint. A strip lash is a band adhered en masse to the eyelid; you put it on in the morning and take it off in the evening — there is no naturalness to it and it disrupts the movement of the lid. Silk lash extensions, by contrast, involve individual microfibres bonded one by one to each of your own natural lash strands — they are placed on the lash shaft, not on the eyelid. This is why they appear completely natural and move in unison with your own lashes. In an average session at our salon, between 80 and 180 fibres are applied per eye; this number varies according to the density you desire (classic, volume, or mega volume).

The two most critical variables in the application are the adhesive and the skill of the lash artist. Low-quality glues available on the market have a high formaldehyde content, which can cause burning in the eyes, allergic reactions, and lash loss; for this reason, TEO Beauty Centre uses only medically approved, low-fume adhesives manufactured in South Korea and the United States. Each of our lash artists is a specialist who has accumulated over 500 hours of hands-on practice and holds an internationally recognised training certificate — which is why each session takes approximately 2 hours and why fibre placement is achieved with millimetric precision. As a result, the lashes never lose their alignment as they fill in, nor do you experience mass shedding between maintenance appointments.

"Silk lash extensions are microfibres placed with millimetric precision onto the shaft of your own lashes — not onto the eyelid."

Expert Advice

Aftercare rules for silk lash extensions

Do This

  • Keep lashes away from water for the first 24 hours — the adhesive must cure fully.
  • Gently cleanse once a day with a specialist lash shampoo.
  • Brush through carefully with a spoolie each morning.
  • Train yourself to sleep on your back rather than on your side.
  • Book a refill appointment within 3 weeks to maintain a full look.

Avoid This

  • Do not use oil-based make-up removers, waterproof mascara, or a lash curler.
  • Do not expose lashes to the hot steam of a sauna, hammam, or steam room.
  • Do not rub, scratch, or tug at the lashes — shedding will begin.
  • Stop sleeping face-down; friction halves the lifespan of the extensions.
  • Do not attempt to adjust them yourself with tweezers — you risk pulling out your own natural lashes.

Frequently Asked

Silk Lash Extensions FAQ

Will lash extensions damage my natural lashes?

Not when applied correctly. A trained lash artist bonds to the lash shaft — not the eyelid — so the natural growth cycle is undisturbed.

How often should I refill?

Every three weeks. This matches your lash growth cycle so new lashes receive fresh fibres and density remains constant.

Can I wear contact lenses?

Yes. You can resume normal lens use 24 hours after application.

What if I have allergies?

We offer a mini patch test before the first session and use low-fume adhesive for formaldehyde-sensitive guests.

Are silk lashes and lash extensions the same thing?

Silk is the most popular fibre used in lash extensions. Alternatives include mink and synthetic cashmere.

How long is a session?

Classic 90–120 minutes, volume 2–2.5 hours, mega volume up to 3 hours. Your eyes stay closed the whole time — bring a podcast or plan to nap.
