Perm
at TEO
Modern perm technology is nothing like the tight curls of the past. At TEO Beauty Centre we use low-damage cold and digital systems to create soft, natural texture that lasts 4 to 6 months — from beach waves to bold spirals, shaped to your hair length and lifestyle.
Why Perm?
4–6 Months Wear
Long-lasting texture without daily styling.
Faster Morning Routine
Wash, scrunch and go — natural waves without a curling iron.
Low Damage
Modern thio-glycolate systems paired with protein pre-treatment.
Custom Wave Size
From loose beach waves to defined ringlets — you choose.
Why has the modern perm made its comeback?
For many people, the word 'perm' conjures images of the tight, rigid, heavily coiled curls of the 1980s and 90s. Yet the art of the perm in 2026 is an entirely different matter. Driven by the 'soft curl' movement pioneered by Korean and Japanese stylists and the French beach-wave trend, the perm has acquired a new aesthetic — voluminous and effortless, as though you have just stepped off the beach. The perm systems we apply at TEO Beauty Centre operate on precisely this philosophy: waves that look not contrived, but as though you were simply born with them.
The success of a modern perm is 30% chemistry and 70% technique. In our salon your hair's diameter, porosity, and elasticity are tested before a curl size (18 mm, 22 mm, 28 mm, or 32 mm) is selected specifically for you. Wrapping techniques include spiral, brick pattern, root-lift, and piggyback. A bespoke wrapping map is drawn for every face shape — smaller curls for an oval face, larger waves for a long face. This level of detail means that when you leave after your perm, you look not like someone who 'has had a perm', but like someone 'having a fantastic hair day'.
The 48 hours following a perm are critical. During this period the hair must not be washed, clipped, or tied back. At our salon, every perm appointment concludes with the application of a pH-balancing fixative and a deep-moisturising mask; a specialist fixing spray is also provided to take home. Thanks to this three-step combination, the shape of the curls is permanently set from day one. After the first wash, never blow-dry your hair straight; drying with a diffuser attachment whilst scrunching the curls is the only method that prolongs their life.
"A modern perm is not merely a style — it is an investment in time that gives you back 20 minutes every morning."

What to bear in mind during the first week and beyond
Do
- Do not wash, tie, or pin your hair for the first 48 hours.
- Dry your curls by scrunching with a diffuser-attached blow-dryer.
- Apply a curl-care mask once a week.
- Apply a curl-defining cream or mousse to wet hair.
- Switch to a satin or silk pillowcase — it extends the life of your curls.
Avoid
- Do not wet your hair for the first 48 hours — curl longevity will be halved.
- Do not use a flat brush or straighten your hair; it will loosen the curls within a week.
- Excessively hot showers break down the perm bonds.
- Avoid sprays and gels containing alcohol.
- Do not have your hair coloured or highlighted within 1 week of your perm.

Perm FAQ
Will a perm damage my hair?
Any chemical treatment stresses the hair, but modern low-pH systems combined with in-treatment protein care keep damage to a minimum.
How long does a perm last?
4 to 6 months depending on hair type and how often you wash it.
How should I care for permed hair?
Sulphate-free shampoo, deep conditioning weekly, air-drying scrunched and minimal heat styling.
Can I perm coloured hair?
Yes, but ideally 15 days after colouring and with a bond-protecting additive in the perm.
Can I straighten my hair on perm days?
Yes — but heavy heat use will shorten the perm's lifespan.
Is a digital perm the same as a cold perm?
No. Digital uses heated rods for tighter, more defined curls; cold perm produces softer, more natural texture. We recommend based on your hair type and desired look.
