Microblading
at TEO

Microblading deposits pigment into the upper dermis with a fine hand-tool, creating individual hair strokes that are visually indistinguishable from real brow hairs. At TEO Beauty Centre every design is drawn manually to your face shape by PhiAcademy-certified artists.

Not a Needle — a Brush

Why is microblading not a tattoo?

The fundamental difference between microblading and a conventional eyebrow tattoo lies in both the tool used and the layer of skin targeted. An eyebrow tattoo is performed with an electric machine that deposits pigment into the dermis — the layer beneath the epidermis — where it remains permanently and turns blue-green over the years. Microblading, as its name implies, is a "micro-blading" technique: using a hand-held pen fitted with a row of 12–18 micro-needles at its tip, fine hair-like strokes are drawn into only the uppermost layer of the epidermis. The semi-permanent pigment deposited within these strokes is naturally broken down and fades by the body within 12–18 months. The result is therefore both natural in appearance and adaptable — you can update your brow shape as trends and your face evolve.

At TEO Beauty Centre, every microblading process begins with a golden-ratio measurement carried out in accordance with the PhiBrows discipline. Using three primary reference points on your face (the tip of the nose, the inner corner of the eye, and the outer corner of the eye plus the iris), the start point, arch and end point of the brow are calculated to the millimetre. A pre-drawing is then made with a pigment pencil; we never touch the blade until you have approved this drawing in the mirror. This "design first, you approve" philosophy explains why guests who leave our salon return months later with the same level of satisfaction.

Microblading is not a single-session procedure — it consists of two appointments. The first session deposits the pigment; the touch-up session carried out 30–45 days later repairs any strokes that have faded during the skin's healing process and makes the natural look permanent. Not completing the second session means leaving the previous work unfinished — which is why, at our salon, the touch-up session is included in the price of the initial application. One year later, a consolidation session is recommended according to your skin type; this brief 30-minute appointment brings your brows back to their original, freshly done appearance.

"Microblading is not a tattoo; it is a semi-permanent drawing made into the uppermost layer of the epidermis that fades naturally within 18 months."
Technique Options

Microblading, ombre or combination — which is right for you?

We offer three different techniques depending on your skin type and the finish you desire.

01

Classic Microblading

Hair strokes only. The most natural look. Ideal for normal and dry skin types.

02

Ombre / Powder Brow

A full, powdered finish resembling an eyebrow pencil. More long-lasting on oily skin types.

03

Combination (Hybrid)

Hair strokes at the front, ombre shading at the back. The best of both techniques.

04

Nano Brows

Ultra-fine hair strokes using an electric device. Designed for sensitive skin types unsuitable for microblading.

05

Touch-Up / Refresh

A protocol to neutralise and modernise the colour of existing permanent make-up.

Session Flow

The microblading process, step by step

1

Analysis & Design

A 45-minute golden-ratio measurement, pre-drawing and colour selection.

2

Application

60–90 minutes of manual stroke work following the application of numbing cream.

3

Healing

Light scabbing for 7–10 days; the skin must not be scratched — allow it to flake off naturally.

4

Touch-Up Session

A complementary session 30–45 days later brings the brows to their final form.

Expert Advice

Critical rules before and after microblading

Do This

  • Avoid alcohol for 48 hours before the procedure; this reduces bleeding and pigment loss.
  • Complete your touch-up session within 30–45 days without fail.
  • Apply the post-care ointment provided twice a day throughout the healing period.
  • Never scratch during the scabbing phase — allow it to fall away naturally.
  • Extend longevity to up to 3 years with 1 consolidation session at the end of the first year.

Avoid This

  • Do not take aspirin, ibuprofen, vitamin E or fish oil supplements for 1 week before the procedure.
  • Keep hair away from pools, the sea, saunas and steam rooms for 10 days throughout the healing period.
  • Avoid direct sun exposure for the first 14 days; UV radiation degrades pigment.
  • Do not apply retinol, glycolic acid or chemical exfoliants to the brow area.
  • Do not have botox, filler or laser treatments until the healing process is complete.

Frequently Asked

Microblading FAQ

How is microblading different from a brow tattoo?

A classic tattoo places pigment deep in the dermis and blurs over time. Microblading is superficial, uses a hand-tool and creates natural strokes that fade evenly.

Does it hurt?

Numbing cream is applied for 20 minutes beforehand. Most guests describe a light scratching sensation.

How long does healing take?

The surface heals in 7–10 days. Pigment settles fully at 30 days, which is when we schedule the touch-up.

Will my brows look too dark at first?

Yes — the first 3–5 days always appear darker. Colour softens by around 40% as the surface exfoliates naturally.

Who is not a suitable candidate?

Guests with oily skin get better results from powder brows. Blood thinners, pregnancy and active skin conditions are contraindicated.

How often should I refresh?

Every 12 to 18 months. A shorter session refreshes colour without redesigning shape.
